Sailing on a yacht is a great opportunity to encourage relationship building and team building. The group will experience a joint activity where everyone has a role to play and roles can be easily changed For example, everyone should experience steering the boat under sail. There are ropes and fenders to be used, sails to be hoisted, set and trimmed, look outs are essential and catering under sail adds to the experience, even if it is only hot drinks !
The skipper will demonstrate various ways of navigating using almanacs, paper charts, electronic plotters, radar, instruments and pilotage. The Solent has a number of hazards, to be safely avoided, which will keep the crew busy.
